Whether you're a seasoned mountain biker, or simply looking for a leisurely ride around the Cape winelands, Ride In Bike Hire has a wide range of bikes to suit your needs. And, we'd be happy to book a guide for you to make your experience even more memorable.
For relaxed day-trippers, we have a fleet of bikes perfect for exploring Stellenbosch and the surrounding wine farms. This can be done on e-bikes or normal entry level bikes, with or without guides... it's up to you! But please be sure to book your guide in advance. For more experienced riders, we have a wide selection of more technical bikes too.

Rented a (hard-tail) mountain bike from Ride In to go for a ride in and around Stellenbosch with my father who has not cycled in a very long time. The bike was in very good condition and was very good value for money. Unkomplizierte Buchung, Abholung und Rückgabe der Fahrräder. Hat alles super geklappt. Hinweis: wenn ihr keine Single trails fahren möchtet bietet sich der Jonkershoek Nature Reserve momentan nicht an, da der Jeep Loop hälftig gesperrt ist. Und selbst der Teil der offen ist, ist nur recht schwer befahrbar. Wir haben für die Mountainbikes (keine Fullys) aber auch andere Wege in Stellenbosch gefunden, die uns sehr gut gefallen haben.

Stellenbosch has long been renowned as THE mountain biking mecca of South Africa. And we are proud to have a trail system that just keeps on growing! With hundreds of kilometres of purpose-built trails and even more gravel/jeep roads, you will literally be spoiled for choice.
Here are a few trails within easy riding distance:

Please note: You will need to buy a permit for some of the trails, depending on where you ride. See the links below for permits, trails and maps.

Everyone is welcome! But to avoid disappointment, we do ask that you pre-book your bike through our online booking platform. We do charge a small extra fee for walk in clients, as it make our logistics harder to manage, rather than pre bookings, so please bear that in mind. Last minute walk-ins may miss out, so please be sure to reserve your bike online ahead of time.
